Behavior on display disconnection
Hi, I got a rather specific question which I couldn't find an answer for, yet:
I'm interested in buying a DL-3500 device with a DisplayPort output (from Startech). My question: How does the driver behave if the display is disconnected from the adapter while the adapter itself stays connected to my PC? Does the driver disable the display then, i.e. is the display is removed from Windows until i reconnect the display to the adapter? I am currently using an USB-to-DVI adapter with an older DisplayLink chip (not sure which one exactly, but pre-3xxx) and it does no behave that way. That's a bit annoying when using the device together with a KVM switch where i would like displays that are currently not "active" (thus selected by the switch) to be entirely removed as a display within Windows. Or may this be a vendor specific issue and I should rather ask Startech? Thanks in advance for any help, Frank |

Hi,
Yes when you disconnect the monitor from the adapter the monitor will no longer appear in Windows display settings. Thanks, James |
