Default Windows 7 problem

I am using an HP Elitebook 8440 with Nvidia NVS 3100M card. I have a docking station with a DVI monitor plugged into the DVI port and a VGA monitor plugged into the VGA port. I have the IOGear VGA USB Card for the 3rd screen plugged into the USB port on the back of the docking station. When I plug in the external USB monitor the main VGA monitor plugged into the docking station goes dark? What is the fix for this? It has worked in the past, but is not working now and I do not know what the next step is.

I'm not sure I fully understand your setup, but you have 2 monitors connected to the USB docking station? Only 1 of the 2 outputs of the docking station is designed to work at a time, as they connect to 1 DisplayLink chip in the dock.

Alternatively it could be the display settings when you connect the 3rd Display. Can you configure the monitor that has gone blank to be re-enabled in Windows Display Properties?
