Still DisplayLink driver problems with Win8.1 (?)
I followed the troubleshooting steps after having installed the 7.5 M0 driver. Finally, the device does not appear as 'USB Display Adapters’ in the device Manager. When connection the Monitor to the computer. the computer display starts flashing. The Support tool says 'No DisplayLink product connected to PC'.
(Attached files as references - in German) For me, it seems that the DisplayLink drivers do still have a problem with Win8.1. Especially, since we all do not get any feedback from the DisplayLink Team, while other threads are answered. |

Already done
Hello James,
I already did all actions you are requesting from me. You can find the results in the attached png-files. Since the USB display driver does not show up in the device manager, the tool does not detect a DisplayLink product. |

Hi,
When you select "Gather Support Information" the tool should still gather the logs even if a device is not connected. Is there a directory on the desktop named "DisplayLink Support Files"? The logs we need are in that directory. Thanks, James |

Hi,
I can't see any reference to a device with DisplayLink inside in the logs. What device do have attached? Can you send me a link to the product page? Thanks, James |

Hi,
This device can require more power than the PC can provide it. I'd recommend connecting both parts of the Y cable to a powered USB hub and then connect the hub to the PC. Thanks, James |

ReOpen Windows 8.1 Software Forium!?
Hello James,
with regard to all the mentioned Win 8.1 issues, maybe you should re-open the Windows 8.1 Software Forum !?. I don't think that it should be considered as solved and closed. |

Y cable connected
Hi James,
I already connected the Y cable to a powered USB hub, without any improvement. Since it worked with on cable with a USB 2.0 interface at my old computer, it should work with also with a USB 3.0 interface. In addition, I added a separate power supply to the device, but again with no improvement. |
