Default Missing Sound options over DisplayLink

I'm running Monterey 12.1 with an HDMI connected monitor through a Lenovo USBC Thinkpad hub. My Asus monitor has built-in speakers. I am running DL Manager 1.6.0.

The Mac, however, does not seem to detect that the Asus monitor is a viable sound output in the sound bar (menu bar).

Strangely, the option to play sound effects is present in System Preferences though (and works)

But there is no option to use the Lenovo USB Audio in Microsoft Teams or in Slack.

How can I configure the DisplayLink manager to allow sound output from native apps to this device?

Thanks,

Eric
