Question 3008 x 1692 resolution missing

Hello. I'm liking my new Wavlink WL-UG69PD2 to a 2017 27" iMac, as well as a 2019 16" Macbook Pro.

When I plug my monitor directly into my computer and I hold down option when clicking the 'scaled' display size, I get a list of options that includes 3008x1692.

When I use the dock, this option is completely missing.

I've found that this is the ideal size for increasing readbility and stopping eye strain on small text. I really would love to use this resolution, any insight on how I can fix this? Or will it take a software update?

Thank you in advance for any help, I greatly appreciate it!

Hello,

Thank you for your patience.

Based on the log files it seems as the EDID file in the monitor does not advertise this resolution so our driver cannot add it as a supported one.

We are currently looking into that possible issue and I believe that in the future we will be able to say more about it.

If you have any other questions please let me know.

Kind regards,
Jakub

Hello,

i am having exactly the same issue of missing resolutions of HiDPI with DisplayLink on a M1 MacBook Pro Runnung MacOS 11.1.

The same monitor, connected directly to the mac, offers several more resolutions, including 3008x1692px (my preferred one).

Now, the same monitor connected via DisplayLink 6950 leaves out all HiDPI resolutions between 1920x1080px and the full 3840x2160.

So, it is not a problem with the EDID provided by the monitor, but a problem with the DisplayLink Adaptor or rather the DisplayLink Manager.

Please fix this.
