Default DL 5.1 & MacOS 10.14.3 -- Lost Drag and Drop-- But Fixed!

FYI, Forum Members:

After upgrading to DL 5.1 without any other change in my system or software, I found that windows opened correctly on my 2 auxiliary monitors, but I could no longer drag and drop a file from my main iMac desktop to the other monitors.

I tried running DiskUtility First Aid, restarting, shutting down, resetting PRAM and SMC, uninstalling and re-installing DL several times, and finally re-installing DL 5.01-- but no change.

After beating my head against the computer and software for hours, I finally gave in to the idea that there must have been a change or a bug in DL 5.1, and I started using my Mac as usual.

But then I realized that I couldn't drag and drop files on the main desktop-- and that files would spring back into place.

Aha! Problem solved by opening "View Options" for the Desktop (Cmd-J, see attached screenshot).

Somehow, when I installed DL 5.1, the "Snap to Grid" option (in the "Sort By" drop-down menu) had been enabled.

I just selected "None" and I'm happy with DL again!
