2.1 on Mavericks DL image stays static after reconnecting

I have MacBook Air mid 2012 with Lenovo USB 3 dock. Two identical Lenovo DVI monitors:
1 monitor connected to Thunderbolt configured as main display
1 monitor connected to the USB 3 dock configured as secondary display

Initially after a restart it works reasonably well, with only some jitter in some apps (a known issue) and acceptable lag.

Then I leave for home, taking laptop with me and next day when connecting the monitors, both light up and window placement is restored correctly, but most of the time the DL display does not receive updates from applications any more.

Moving windows around or scrolling does not get rendered. Only if I do a "show desktop" or switch desktop and return, then the windows are redrawn, but still remain static.

A restart fixes this always.

The issue is not reproducible by simply disconnecting and reconnecting the dock.

Also, not every morning I had the issue, which made me think that maybe it is related to the amount of work I do at home without the monitors attached. Might be that when the issue did not occur, I did not use the computer at home the night before.
