Default Screen flicker

Hi everyone,

I really hope you can help me. I've been at this for hours upon hours, but I'm finally out of ideas.

First, to give it a little history:
I've used a Toshiba Dynadock U3, to minimize the hassle while using the notebook. Since this brick didn't work with any reliability while using the USB 3.0 connection, I got it refunded. Currently I'm using a USB 3.0 Hub with a USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter from Cablematters.

HTML Code:

The occurring issues are:

1. Screen flickers, if usage is tried with a random window (Google Chrome, even Word)
2. 3D fullscreen applications, which are used on the primary monitor, (e.g. Games) crash/don't boot up (worked in previous driver versions)
3. Shutting down the system takes considerably longer
4. Booting up the system takes considerably longer

I've read and followed the HOWTO thread. All drivers are up to date I've used the Debug tool (all pass on system check), log file is attached. Hardware ID's are
USB\VID_17E9&PID_4301&REV_0297&MI_01 and USB\VID_17E9&PID_4301&REV_0297&MI_00.

System specs:

Hi James,

thanks for the reply. I've tried the current version multiple times. All the before described issues remain. The screen accepts mouse movements, but even moving a desktop shortcut in the adapter Display area makes it black out. A still window works, but even writing in Word messes that up. Using Flash/HTML5 (like in Youtube) or any other moving picture leads to freezes and complete and continuous blackout. Fullscreen 3D applications just instantly crash.

The Support tool gives the following:

Pass: Basic mode support
Pass: Device attached
Pass: Device started correctly
Pass: Graphics driver date
Pass: WEI is above recommended 3
Pass: No Other USB graphics software installed

Device manager ID:
USB\VID_17E9&PID_4301&REV_0297&MI_00
USB\VID_17E9&PID_4301&MI_00

When the screen blacks out, does the device drop off the USB bus (eg does it disappear from device manager) or is it just the screen that blanks?

Does it improve if you connect your USB 3.0 hub with a USB 2.0 cable, to see if it is a USB 3.0 problem?

Thank you for your answer.
I finally managed to circumvent the old proprietary Samsung GPU drivers for the current AMD version. Sadly the behavior of the adapter has not changed much.

USB 2.0: Stable, but incredibly laggy. Even watching 480p is pretty bad.

USB 3.0 (Laptop port): Exactly the same, very stable. Fullscreen 1080p video playback without a problem. This is not an option for me, because I only have 2 USB 3.0 Ports, which are both in constant use.

USB 3.0 (via Exsys ex-1188hms 7 Port Hub): Screen blacks out in random intervals. Hub firmware and USB 3.0 controller drivers are up to date, no other device has encountered any problems.

3D-Applications still crash with all of the above configurations, the following passage is an exemplary crash report. This did not happen with the old Dynadock and 6.x drivers.

Regards

EDIT: The adapter remains in the device manager, but the manager itself seems to search for new hardware everytime the blacks out.
