Default DisplayLink devices don't wake up from sleep on Windows 8.1

Hi,

I'm using an Asus Zenbook Touch ultrabook, which shipped with Windows 8.0, and a Targus USB 3.0 dock ACP71USZ. This has worked OK for more than 6 months.

After upgrading to Windows 8.1, I had issues with DisplayLink (won't detect second display first, updated to latest software which then resulted in inability to boot). These were fixed by restoring the OS, running the DisplayLink cleaner utility and then reinstalling the latest DisplayLink drivers (v7.4).

Now I can boot OK, external monitor works through the dock. But after waking up from sleep, the dock doesn't seem to wake up - no monitor, no USB devices connected to the dock are visible. I have to unplug the USB 3.0 cable from the laptop and plug it back in to make it work.

DisplayLink Display adapter driver: 7.4.48800.0, driver date: 6/20/2013.

How can I resolve this?
