Default MacBook Air Issue

Hi there. My MacBook Air stopped synching correctly with my monitors on Friday the 15th of May after an Apple update. I have two Dell P2419 H External monitors and I use the Dell D6000 universal dock. I connect via the USB C connector wire on the D6000. From the D6000 I connect the monitors to the DP output slots.I am running Catalina v 10.15.4. I was using the GA driver (from November) prior to the update. I tried installing and reinstalling to no avail. Per another thread, I installed the beta driver with mixed results. I sometimes get a flickering on the MacBook, showing what would appear on all three screens, with the two external monitors being black. Other times, the sync works but I can no longer close my MacBook lid without shutting everything off. I want it back to the way it was, MacBook closed with two external monitors working. Can you help?

Hello,

The DisplayLink Manager app is in development and distributed as an early preview. It has the following limitations we are currently working on, some of them with the OS vendor.
  • Number of external display limitation of 2 lifted with the beta, now back to 4 external displays like with the classic driver,
  • Rotation is not supported,
  • Clamshell (Closed lid) mode is not supported,
  • Login screen it not supported.

In your case if you are unable to use Clamshell mode, we recommend you stay on the classic driver - https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/file?id=1478

Ensure that you uninstall Beta driver first though. You can find it in the Applications, just move it Bin.

Thank you,
Katarzyna

Hi Katarzyna,

Thank you for the explanation. My problem is that the previous version of the driver no longer is working. That is why I updated to the beta driver . When do you expect to go GA on the new driver?

Best,

Snow Yetti

Hello Snow Yetti,

We are working on lifting the limitations of the app and we will be communicating to our users when the limitations change. However we do not have dates set as of yet.

Best regards,
Katarzyna
