Default Upgrade firmware for HDMI USB adapter?

Is it possible to upgrade the firmware for an Anker USB HDMI Display Adapter? This is why I ask.

I have two Anker USB HDMI display adapters. The information on each device indicates they are exactly the same. I can't identify any information that would indicate a version.

One of the USB HDMI Adapters is able to run higher resolutions than the other. Each display adapter is connected to the same brand, model, version, manufacture date of monitor.

When I look at the USB Adapter's hardware Id in the Hardware manager it looks like one adapter may have a newer firmware version than the other.

Is it possible to upgrade the firmware on the USB HDMI display adapters?

Adapter 1: USB\VID_17E9&PID_4301&REV_0338&MI_00
Adapter 2: USB\VID_17E9&PID_4301&REV_0396&MI_00

Both adapters are connected to the same computer. Each are running the same version of the DisplayLink driver.

The operating system is Windows 10 Pro with all updates applied. The DisplayLink driver is the one obtained through Windows Update.
