Docking station causes Finder to crash

[2020vision]

Ever since I upgraded to Big Sur I've had a problem with my finder window crashing. Apps on the Dock don't open or force quit. Finder windows don't open or close. When I double click on a Dock app it takes me to the Applications folder instead of opening the app.

I'm on a Mediasonic SmartDock docking station connected to a MacBook pro with dual monitors. I used to be able to disconnect the docking station and reconnect the USB 3.0 plug and my problem gets resolved. Now the monitors don't turn on unless I restart the Mac. Please advise:
