Black screen - Page 2

Hi,

Couple of questions:

Is "'working but black' with Nvidia driver 320.49 or 326.01" the same issue as the previous post "extended screen is blank (a bit grey rather than black today) until I push something over to it"?

About the blank screen issue:

Is the LED on the monitor blue / green when this occurs or is it amber?
When this occurs if you select the desktop metro "tile" does the desktop appear on the extending display?

'Working but black' is different to 'blank until I push something over to it'. When it is 'working but black' the monitor is definitely on (blue LED), but nothing you do, including what you suggest above, will make anything show on it.

It's worked three days in a row now. Don't know why! Maybe the latest nVidia beta driver update? Currently running 326.41. Just downloaded your RC so will let you know if any issues. Thanks for this beta program.

Installed the RC -- immediately got the black screen problem again. Got a week off next week, will let you know if it's OK the week after.

Was OK for 3 days in a row this week. This morning it was OK, as it was Patch Tuesday yesterday I installed the updates which include a couple of 8.1 Preview updates, rebooted and got the black screen again. I am going to shut down and then power on and see what happens.

Lenovo W530
Windows 8.1
Quadro K1000m (326.01)
Intel HD 4000 (9.18.10.3222)
DisplayLink (7.4M0)
Lenovo ThinkVision USB Monitor

Its active but black. No stuttering on main screen. If I set the displaylink monitor as primary, a cursor appears but it does not move and the real cursor is on the laptop display. This was working when I first installed the latest displaylink driver, but stopped afterwards.

Installed 7.4M0 and the latest NVIDIA beta driver and all has been fine for the last 4 days!
