Default Dell (Displaylink) USB 3 Sound out Not Working

I have a Dell XPS-9333 laptop running Windows 10 through a DisplayLink USB3 Hub. When connecting extension speakers through the sound out (microphone green socket) no sound comes through the speakers (only the laptop one). I have tested the speakers on other computers and they work fine.
I have downloaded latest DisplayLink Software 7.9 as well as updated Windows 10. Plus I have run all the available Troubleshooters.
When I first connect the extension speakers, there is a crackling sound but no music or sound can be heard when selected on my laptop.

Hello,
Have you changed the Windows settings so it selects the dock to play?
Here is an article on changing the Windows default playback peripheral.
Kind regards,
Alban
