My old Dell M4800 recently died and I decided to go for Xps 15 (9570)
Start looking at docking stations as I use multi display env in my work. I found Dell Universal Dock - D6000 and as it is first time for me to work with new USB and docking stastions I wonder if all this Dell docking stations using the same DisplayLink chipset since they started to be manufactured. I have seen Ubuntu drivers for chip DL-6000 and my question is if all Dell Universal Dock - D6000 are using this chipset or not. If not how I can check what chipset is used in particular docking station before I purchase it. Next question is as I only use display with resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 how many displays I can have conected to one Dell Universal Dock - D6000 Any answers is more that appreciated. |

Hello,
Thank you for reaching out. D6000 uses DL-6000 chipset. The only way to tell what chipset is used is when the manufacturer of the device provides that information on their website / datasheet / original box or another method. You can have 3 external monitors running 1920x1080 resolution connected at the same time. You can filter products that are available on our website to check that. Link below shows pre-filtered information: https://www.displaylink.com/products...080&num=3&br=2 Best regards, Katarzyna
