Default ThinkPad USB 3 Dock+Windows 8+nVida Optimus+Any Game = Blackscreen

Hi,
I have a big problem with my ThinkPad T430u (with nVidia Optimus / GT 620M) in combination with the ThinkPad USB 3.0 Dock: Every time when I try to start a game, it won´t actually start. The only thing that happens: A Black-screen appears, and if a second monitor is attached, the picture on this monitor flickers. Some games also give some error information (see pictures below).

This problem only happens with installed Displaylink drivers. Without, the games start without any problems (but I also have to use the miniDisplayport on the Notebook to connect the external monitor). It also happens with every driver-version I have tried, including the newest one (7.2 M0).

Other people also seem to experience the same problem: http://translate.googleusercontent.c...5_2N13fWbY0DNA

I hope this issue will resolved soon, otherwise the Dock performs very well.

Yes - this is a known issue due to the way the NVIDIA Optimus systems operate on Windows 8. It affects full screen apps (eg games).

We're looking at ways to fix this, but there is nothing easy we can do. Ideally would need to work with NVIDIA, but so far they have not been open to helping with this.
