Default Ethernet not working

Hi
I have a Winstars Technology Ltd. docking station with displaylink software.

All worked fine but at some point, don't know when, the ethernet stopped working. Didn't noticed it because the wifi connected instead.

I have read a lot and tried everything I found, restart, reinstall, reconnect and much more, but whit no luck.

The other things work, its just the Ethernet that stopped.
It says that the cable isn't connected, but it is and the cable is fine.
What to do next?

Hi,

Can you try the following:

1. Disconnect your dock
2. Uninstall DisplayLink software
3. Download and run this tool http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=297
4. Install DisplayLink software
5. Reconnect your dock

Thanks,
James

Does Ethernet come back if you power cycle the dock? Is the Ethernet shown in device manager and is there any error on it?

Srry for the really late response.

The ethernet does show up in the device manager as "USB 3.0 to gigabyte".
To power cykle it doesnt help.

This sounds like a hardware problem with the dock, as the PC and the driver thinks there is an Ethernet connection, but you are getting no link with a good cable.

Best to contact the product manufacturer about this.
