D5000 + No Display via DisplayLink
I have a Dell D5000 dock with a 6430u laptop. Randomly my dock stopped working. I've removed all software, dock and displaylink, tried the cleaning tool and reinstalling with version 7.9 of software, no luck. I have Windows 7 x64.
My dock indicates connection is good and my usb headset works from the dock. Problem: ----------- No display at all from either of two Dell monitors plugged into the dock. The dock D5000 software indicates good connection in software and blue lights on front. Questions: ------------ --How do I verify display link is installed correctly? --Should I see a device in device manager? --Should I go back to an older version of the software? I had 7.6 and it was working previously. --Any tips or tricks to troubleshoot? Thanks, Jason |

Hi,
Could you attach the output of this tool? http://support.displaylink.com/knowl...to-displaylink If you are able to check I would be interested to know if 7.8 M0 works for you or not - you can get it here: http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/sla.php?fileid=156 Thanks, James |

What I'm finding is sometimes DisplayLink hangs during the "First Connect" screen, while others times it works. I've also been reading Dell website and it seems D5000 has a specific dock software, which I checked my programs/software and the Dell Docking Software is not listed, neither Dell WLAN. Are these required?

Anyone else have any ideas on what might be the issue? I've tried versions 7.6, 7.8, 7.9. My screen flashes, but nothing gets transferred to my Dell monitors.

It appears my issue might be related to D5000 driver. Any ideas on how to obtain D5000 driver, is it embedded with displaylink software or from Dell?
I cannot seem to find the driver for the dock and this under Other Devices in device manager has an exclamation point. Hardware IDs = USB\VID_17E9&PID_4317&REV_0111 USB\VID_17E9&PID_4317 |

Hi,
Regarding the last post can you try pointing this to c:\Program Files\DisplayLink Core Software and installing that way? Specifically try these steps: 1. Open device manager 2. Navigate to the unknown device 3. Right click on it 4. Select update driver 5. Select browse computer 6. Check include sub directory 7. Point it to c:\Program Files\DisplayLink Core Software Thanks, James |

James, THanks for the suggestion and idea--that did not work, there were no drivers found in that folder or subfolder.
Is the D5000 display driver part of WiGig Dell install or DisplayLink, or both? Jason Last edited by jmill130; 10-08-2015 at 03:55 PM. |

Also, should there be a line item in Device Manager under Display adapters for Displaylink or not?
