Default Severe screen flashing on 7.4M0

Hi,

Since installing 7.4M0, my second screen has been flashing black, as well as going blurry all the time. I have a laptop + 2nd monitor plugged into a Toshiba dynadock U3.0. I did a clean install for 7.4 driver.

This setup was not flashing on 7.3, but I was having consistent network dropouts on 7.3 so that's why I updated. As far as I can tell the network is better, but screen flashing is very bad.

Any thoughts?

Also the network issue is still happening - consistent dropouts throughout the day.

If I use the wifi instead of the dock's connection, there are no dropouts at all.

Hi,

Thanks for the info - I've raised this internally for further investigation.

Are the ethernet dropouts random or do they occur after a specific event?

Thanks,
James

The dropouts seem random, happens probably 10 times day that I notice, could happen more often.

Another odd thing I noticed is that my second monitor does not 'sleep' any more when I remove my laptop overnight. It used to go to sleep after the laptop was disconnected.

Any progress here?

The network dropouts are as bad if not worse than they were on the previous driver. Really is a borderline unusable piece of equipment.

Agree....one issue after another. I just updated to 7.4 yesterday. Today....one screen "dimmed" to almost black and went super blocky every time I was dragging and dropping email within my outlook. Also....Internet Explorer no longer works, LMAO. I can open it....hit control-o and type in an address to go to and then it just sits there. It doesn't go unresponsive, but you can no longer click anything in I.E. If I undock, I can use I.E like normal. GREAT UPDATE guys!! First, and most importantly LAST displaylink device I have in my office environment. I couldn't imaging my users dealing with this garbage.

Hi,

To help us investigate the issue with IE, please download this tool:
http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=269

As soon as the issue with IE is seen again, please run the tool and select "Gather Support Information".

It's also worth trying the "System Compatibility Check" to see if anything is flagged up.

Thanks,
James

Hi,

Regarding the issue with flickering - I've reproduced this myself but I don't have clear steps to reproduce. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't.

Do any of you guys have a set of steps to reliably show the flickering every time?

Thanks,
James
