Default Extended display not detected - Macbook Air M2, macOS Ventura 13.2.1

Setup:
  • Machine: Macbook Air M2, macOS Ventura 13.2.1
  • Connection: HP USB-C Dock G5
  • Monitors: HP M27ha x 2
Problem:
I tried to set up a dual monitor extended display mode. After DisplayLink Manager 1.8 was successfully installed and set up, the external monitors were always mirrored. They did not show up as two separate displays in the apple "Displays" settings so I am not sure how I can enable extended display. I have tried the following:
  • Try both HDMI and DisplayPort on the docking station.
  • Use two usb-c adapters to connect both monitors separately to the laptop, instead of using a docking station.
  • Reinstall the DisplayLink software, enable accessibility, enable screen recording, etc.
None of the above seems to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,

Unfortunately HP USB-C Dock G5 is not using DisplayLink technology, it won't be able to communicate with our drivers. Please reach out to HP for further support of this product. Thank you.
