Default Windows xp: not possible to remove display link

Hi,

I have tried to remove display link from a xp system.

Now the computer starts and ask to install the display link drivers. Not any adapter is pluged to the USB port. But he ask about 20 times "new hardware detected ... install" ... I give every time "annul".

I have tried to seek in teh registery and I have deleted all entrys for display ..

After some restarts I find xx entrys "not known pheripherial" in the hardware list ... I delete all .. and I restart. Same problem he want to install the drivers.

I have also tried to reinstall the programm and the drivers ... but this is also not possible.

What can I do?

thank you for all kind of suggestions...

That's Windows update trying to push our drivers out to you for your USB device. I assume you have a DisplayLink product connected to a USB port and Windows wants to install the drivers for it.
