Default Asus MB168B+ went blank after 2 days

Hello,

Windows 8.1, Lenovo Yoga 13 and Asus MB168B+. The monitor stopped working in either a USB 2.0 or 3.0 after a couple of days. The monitor registers with the computer, screenshots show that the second monitor is running, but the screen is blank at all times. The Asus screen never appears anymore either, but the power light is on. I've tried reinstalling the drivers multiple times, disconnecting the monitor, rebooting PC, etc. I upgraded to 8.1 from 8 in the midst of all of this, but it had already stopped working before the upgrade, was hoping the upgrade might help.

Log file attached. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi,

Do you have a USB 'Y' cable you can try?

A lack of power from the PC might trigger this.

Alternatively try connecting the monitor to an external mains powered USB hub and then connect the hub to your PC.

Let me know how you get on.

Thanks,
James

Tried with a powered USB hub and it still doesn't work. I also tried it on a friend's laptop with the same problem. Do you have any other ideas? If not, I will return the monitor. Thank you for the help!
