Question Windows 8.1 & Dell Wireless Dock D5000 issue

Issues started after upgrading to 8.1 without updating drivers first.
Did clean-up using your utility and installed two driver packages:
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/...driverId=V6DXH
http://www.displaylink.com/support/downloads.php

After completing firmware update for D5000 unit, successfully established connection with dock. Keyboard and mouse (connected to dock) works fine now, but I have no output to my monitor connected to dock via HDMI.
Basically, there is no "second monitor" detected by Windows.

Additionally, in device manager, DisplayLink Audio has no drivers installed.

While I'm not sure that its an cleanly dock related issue, asking for your help as experts in this area. D5000 connected to Latitude 6430
Output from CSR tool attached, as well.

Thanks in advance!

Yes - it looks like the software is not installed properly. Our driver has been installed from Windows update. I'd try and manually install it from the setup.exe on our website.

But first, I'd uninstall the DisplayLink Core software (with the dock disconnected so Windows update doesn't try and install it again), then run the cleaner from here:

http://kb.displaylink.com/297

Then reinstall from the setup.exe on our website, then reconnect the dock. Hopefully that will solve it. If not, please post the logs again.

Thumbs up

Short report and possible advice for others who have got in to same trouble:
  • Dock powered off
  • Attempted to uninstall all packages related to D5000. Two failed to uninstall.
  • Performed cleanup with tool supplied.
  • Did manual cleanup from registry, reboot.
  • Confirmed that all related entries, processes disappeared.
  • Installed first Core package from Displaylink http://www.displaylink.com/support/downloads.php
  • Installed additional package from Dell http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/...driverId=V6DXH
  • Reboot.
  • After connecting to dock, went through DisplayLink wizard configuring main and secondary monitors.

Results: success
The only comment i have is that secondary monitor (through D5000) now named in my devices as "No Monitor". I would say that does not hurt but better to name it in a different way
P.S. that also solved issue with Displaylink Audio device..

Thanks for your help, guys!

Thanks for the update. The "No Monitor" will occur if we cannot read the monitor information. It may come back after a replug of the monitor or a reboot of the OS.

Anyway - glad it is working.
