Default Degradation of performance with newer kernels

I have noticed major degradation in the performance of my computer's display capability using the latest DisplayLink drivers (5.6.1) on Linux kernels post-6.1.6. While initially following reboot the display is very zippy, the performance of video rendering degrades markedly after 24 hrs., and it becomes stuttery and jerky, with 100% CPU usage for the most minor moves that engage the video module. 6.1.6 is the latest properly functioning kernel for me. Rebooting fixes this, though only temporary, as just described.

Anyone else noticing this?

Currently running Ubuntu 22.10
