Default Windows 10 Fall Creators Update v1709 - No Screen when Restarting

I have successfully updated my system to Win 10 Fall Update and everything is working fine, except when I do a system restart. After doing a system restart, the screen connected to my displaylink adapter is blank.

Doing a full shutdown and restart, solves the problem.

Hello,

Indeed, when you reboot your computer, screen configuration doesn't applied directly.
Another workaround, just unplug/plug your docking station.
edit: 8.3 M1 here

It seems 8.3 M1 is not stable for FCU yet. My issue shows after the update and makes my DisplayLink dock drop connections if I plug in a USB device or just at random times. Strange... Hopefully, developers will solve these issues soon.

Hello,

Would you please be able to post logs so this can be looked at?

This new version of Windows isn't supposed to have changed anything with regard to our driver.
Like for all other discussions, the last link of my forum signature gives how to collect the logs you can then upload here for analysis.

Regards,
Alban

Default Same for me

Since the 1709 update I get a message every time my PC boots to say that the DisplayLink drivers aren't compatible.
I never had it before this update.

Also Night Mode has never worked. I have a 3-monitor arrangement with my Dell Inspiron 15 7560 laptop and 2xDell monitors. The night light works on the laptop screen but not the others.

It was suggested to attach logs in a previous post. Could you be specific about which logs please?
Thanks.
Chris

Default Issues with convertible laptop screen rotation

Also having post update issues.

Straight from boot, all seems to work.
However, when returning from hibernation, auto-rotation on my main computer is disabled. This used to happen occasionally pre-update, but nearly closing the laptop and re-flipping it would restore the screen rotation.
Now, however, the only way to restore it is to disconnect the docking station.

PC: HP Pavilion x360 Convertible
2nd monitor: Insignia NS-L22Q-10A
Docking station: ANKER USB 3.0

Will follow-up with logs upon next occurrence.

Default FCU newest drivers somewhat works

I have tried the 8.4 alpha drivers with FCU. This mostly works for me, provided I follow the following procedure:
1) Turn on monitor (in my case active inspire projector).
2) Turn off lenovo thinkpad usb 3 dock
3) Turn on lenovo thinkpad usb 3 dock
4) Connect lenovo thinkpad usb 3 dock to computer
5) Check if I get picture (this also meens windows 10 settings shows second screen has 1280x800 resolution (if I do not do steps 1-3 often screen resolution is wrong). Otherwise unplug lenovo thinkpad usb 3 dock from computer and go back to step 4.

I need to repeat steps 4 and 5 between 1 and 3 times typically. I will post logs as soon as I get back to work.

Hello, you don't need to worry about getting logs for the auto-rotation.
That DisplayLink driver cannot control the rotation of the native screen.
If it's like on my personal Lenovo machine, Windows will have removed all the relevant utilities/services during its upgrade. I advise you contact the people who do the auto-rotation for that device, HP.

Kind regards,
Alban
