Issue with 3rd screen using mini displayport
I have two Lenovo W530 laptops that have the same issue where two monitors cannot be plugged into both the mini-displayport or the displaylink HDMI adapter. If I plug either one in alone, they work. As soon as both are plugged in, the two monitors go black and the laptop screen is going on and off and flickering.
These W530 laptops have Nvidia Quadro graphics cards. Both have Windows 8.1 and all drivers, including the graphics driver, are up to date. I also have the latest DisplayLink drivers. |

Hi,
As soon as the issue is seen please attach the output of this tool: http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=269 Once downloaded, please run it and select "Gather Support Information" It's also worth trying the "System Compatibility Check" to see if anything is flagged up. Thanks, James |

displaylink with thunderbolt
Attached is the output from the debug tool. The sys compatibility checks passed. There is a small change on this system. Before when I plugged both the displaylink usb to HDMI adapter and the mini-displayport to HDMI cable, the laptop screen would distort and go black and come back. Now whichever cable I plug in last takes over and the other screen goes black.

Hi,
We are try to engage Nvidia so we can come up with a robust solution for systems using their Optimus technology. For now the only workaround is to disable the Nvidia GPU in the BIOS. Thanks, James |
