Default Ubuntu 16.04 - Dell Inspiron 7348 - Dell D3100 - USB 3.0 and ethernet problems

Hi,

My Dell D3100 is only working on a USB 2.0 port and, even then, my ethernet port is showing that the link is not up. Here is the snippet from dmesg showing it:
