Default External displays not showing - Ubuntu 18.04.1 - DisplayLink Linux Driver 4.4.24

Ever since installing Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, I have been unable to get displays to work via DisplayLink. It was working before, when I was running Elementary OS (which is based on Ubuntu). My displays also work when plugged directly into laptop HDMI port.

I have just installed the latest DisplayLink Linux drivers, but the problem is still the same.

Please find attached the logs from DisplayLink Linux Support Tool.

Default Wayland was the culprit

Turned out the issue was that I was using Wayland, after installing the latest drivers and switching back to to "Ubuntu" (the default) in the login screen the issue was resolved.
