Default DisplayLink USB does not appear in device manager

I bought a DisplayLink-related product; thought it would be almost a plug'n'play; now over my head trying to get the product to work. Thought I'd try here before returning the product.

Following the troubleshooting guide here
http://www.displaylink.org/forum/showthread.php?t=896
I get hung up at "Check the DisplayLink USB device appears in the device manager."
No matter how many times I uninstall and reinstall programs/drivers, the USB Device always comes up as "USB Mass Storage Device" & "Samsung Host Ready USB Device" - instead of "DisplayLink device."

As vague as this might be - anyone willing to help? Thanks for your time

Hi,

As soon as the issue is seen please attach the output of this tool:
http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=269

Once downloaded, please run it and select "Gather Support Information"

When you reply please select "Manage Attachments" from the "Additional Options" section below.

From there select Upload and navigate to the output of the tool which will be in a folder called "DisplayLink Support Files" on your desktop.

Thanks,
James

Default Same issue - Direct link not in USB

Hello.
I am experiencing the same issue, unable to see DirectLink in USB, tray, anywhere. But, it is installed in Add/Remove Programs. Countless reboots and driver installs. Direct Link. Intel USB drivers, etc. I have ran the DirectLink diagnostic tool. Now where do I submit those files for analysis?
I have many USB products that rely on DirectLink.
Please advise.

I see this in Event Viewer | System
The DisplayLinkManager service is marked as an interactive service. However, the system is configured to not allow interactive services. This service may not function properly.

And yes, the Interactive Service is running.
Can I expect some troubleshooting options today?
