poor performance @ ubuntu with ryzen
Hello,
when using (connected + active display) my displaylink dual DP adapter to my notebook, the input starts lagging and the UI laggs behind even further. This does not only affect the displays connected via displaylink, but the eDP and HDMI of the Laptop-iGPU. Once the Displaylink-Display is disabled or the adapter unplugged, this immediately goes back to flawless operation. When disabling two displays (L24T-2 and built-in eDP), the system locks up until it recovers due to the 20s timer running out. This only affects my Ubuntu Install, the same setup has no problems under windows. This happens with and without amdgpu installed (versions 21.10 and 21.30 and uninstalled) System: Thinkpad E485 with Ryzen 2500U, 16GB RAM xserver-xorg-core version 2:1.20.11-1ubuntu1~20.04.2 displaylink graphics software 5.4.1 currently running x11 Displays: Fujitsu E19-7 via Displaylink (60hz and 75hz modes) Fujitsu L24T-2 via Displaylink (60hz) LC-Power UWQHD100C via HDMI 1.4 (56hz) Integrated FHD via eDP (60hz) I hope there is a solution to this "Linux + AMD" problem. If I can provide any more useful info, please let me know. Greetings, victore99 Last edited by victore99; 11-11-2021 at 12:16 PM. |
