iMac will not recognize monitor connected with Display Link VGA to USB 3.0 adapter
Background info:
-Im running a Quad-Core Intel i7 - 2016 ish OS is Catalina 10.15.5 -Running Parallels/Windows 10 in addition to Catalina -Trying to connect a View Sonic monitor (VG2230wm) that is about 12 years old using a VGA to USB adapter - CD0032 -My work PC laptop recognizes the monitor with or without the CD0032 adapter and does so automatically so I know the cables and adapter work Here's what I've tried: - Installed latest driver from Display Link website - Tried all the USB ports, none work - Went into system report / Extensions"and verified that DisplayLinkDriver is loaded and loadable - Attached monitor to another computer (Toshiba PC Laptop) which recognized the monitor immediately and without having to hit "detect" in settings - Tried option/detect"in Mac OS display preferences - Tried "detect" in Windows 10 on iMac - Opened AirPlay display device which brought up "arrangement" option but it still didn't detect the monitor so I couldn't control it ( I read that this was a possible fix even though it makes no sense to me ) I'm out of ideas. Is it possible the Mac OS cannot detect such an old monitor? |

I just finished with my tech support - they fixed the problem using the following article:
https://support.displaylink.com/know...ina-10-15-beta Hope this helps someone. Booo to Apple search engine - this article didn't come up when I searched there. |
