Default USB powered monitor 1366x768 - resolution must be downgraded to 1024x768

Hello everybody,

Here is my configuration, everything is recent.

1) Dual screen with a very common portable monitor.
AOC e1659Fwu 15.6-Inch 1366x768

2)
CPU
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4300Y CPU @ 1.60GHz

Graphic
VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Device 0a1e (rev 0b)

3) Display link version
displaylink-driver-5.3.1.34.run

---
Impossible to use my secondary monitor in resolution 1366x768 (stripes on the screen)
With resolution : 1024x778, it has worked for the last year.

Problem occurs with both Lubuntu 18.04 and 20.04 or display Link 5.3.1.33

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us here on the forum.

Based on your description I would recommend testing different resolution modes.

Mainly, please add 1360x786 first and then 1368x768 and test it on them. In order to do it, please take a look at this article. Article describes a general change for VGA.

In your case it should be probably:

DVI-I-1-1 (DVI- xxxx) and probably
gtf 1360 768 59.9, the rest accordingly.

Mode name should stay custom.

If you follow this link you may read more about this issue.

Thank you for your actions, in case of any questions please let me know.

Best regards,
Jakub
