d3100 device not showing up in usb in system services

I'm trying to use the dell d3100 docking station to connect two monitors to my macbook pro (2017, running Monterey) but when I connect the docking station to my laptop, it doesn't show up under devices in the USB section, while other usb devices do when I use the same port. However, it is providing power to my laptop. I've downloaded the displaylink driver and allowed it to screen record in settings, but for some reason it doesn't seem to be working.
