Default E1649Fwu used to work with ASUS Gaming Laptop

Hi folks. My USB monitor worked fine for a couple of months, until the recent firmware upgrades started in April. Now, my monitor never stays on for a few minutes without flickering and then completely going blank. The Device Manager still shows the e1649Fwu as being connected, but no display.

I've updated all firmware that I know of, including the newest from AOC dated 2 June. When upgrading to that version, the monitor stayed on for quite awhile. However, later that day when I tried using it again and it started back up with it's annoying flickering and screen going blank.

Below, I pasted the DisplayLink tool error system capability check when it is working and not working. I also attached the DL tools support information logs. The 0700 file is when it was working.

Is this monitored doomed to go in the garbage can??? Help!

Working:

Pass: Basic mode support
Pass: Device attached
Pass: Device started correctly
Pass: Graphics driver date
Pass: Driver for the Fresco Logic device is up to date
Pass: WEI is above recommended 3
Pass: No Other USB graphics software installed

Not working:

Pass: Basic mode support
Pass: Device attached
Pass: Device started correctly
Pass: Graphics driver date
Pass: Driver for the Fresco Logic device is up to date
Pass: WEI is above recommended 3
Pass: No Other USB graphics software installed

Hi,

The logs are showing USB connection errors.

Do you get the same issue regardless of USB port that the monitor is connected to?

Thanks,
James

Hi. Thank you for replying. I tried all USB plugs, but still the same issue. I usually only use one of the USB plugs connected to the monitor, but I have also tried with both of them plugged in with no improvement. I have a USB mouse and headset that never disconnects when the monitor goes blank.

Also, the windows that I had open on the USB monitor are still there, even though the monitor has a black screen. They only come back to my main desktop when I unplug the monitor.
