Default Wayland not initially available on Ubuntu 22.04

Using latest DL drivers on fully updated Ubuntu 22.04 on an Intel NUC8i5BEK with an Asus MB169B+. Working really nicely except for one thing. When I first log in, following boot, there is no windowing system option and I'm logged into an X11 session. If I then log out and attempt to log in again, I now have the Wayland and X11 options (as normal) and am logged into a Wayland session by default (as normal). It's a minor inconvenience really and I can live with it but it would be nice to be logged into a Wayland session on the first attempt. Any ideas? Have run the DL Support Tool and am attaching the output file produced.
