DisplayLink crashes on Ubuntu 22.04 in 4K resolution
Hi,
I had a 24" FHD monitor (Dell U2419H) and everything worked fine. Then I bought a 32" 4K monitor (LG 32UN880-B) and the driver started to crash. If I set the resolution on the LG to 1080@60, it still works, but as soon as I increase the resolution and refresh rate (1440p, 4K@30, 4K@60), it gets more unstable and eventually crashes. Before the driver crashes, video playback is also lagging, and frames jumping and shaking (it actually might be two separate issues). When the driver crashes, the playback switches back to my laptop screen, and sometime later it switches back to the external monitor. I recorded what happens so it might be easier to understand after watching it here: https://youtu.be/Umsh1DPMhfI I have an Asus UX331UN with an integrated Intel UHD 620 and an NVIDIA GeForce MX150. I tried these without any luck: * https://support.displaylink.com/know...ent-x-upgrades * https://support.displaylink.com/know...on-list-on-mac Specs: Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS Kernel: 5.15.0-46-generic Gnome 42.2 on Wayland DisplayLink: 5.6.0-59.176, evdi: 1.11.0 CPU: Intel Core i7-8550U GPU: Intel UHD 620, NVIDIA GeForce MX150 Docking station: i-tec USB 3.0 / USB-C / Thunderbolt 3 Dual Display (CADUAL4KDOCK) I tried uploading two zip files from the DLSupportTool but one of them failed with nginx error (413 Request Entity Too Large). The smaller one is available. Any help is appreciated. |
