Default DisplayLink needed for primary monitor?

Hi --

I am using a DoubleSight DS90U as my only/primary monitor on a Mac Mini Server. In this case, is the DisplayLink software required, or is it only necessary when using a second monitor?

Thank you.

Our drivers are required to use DisplayLink screens in any desktop layout configuration. The internal GPU drivers should not be needed in your configuration but we never tried that.

Hi Soundog,

I am in the same situation, contemplating getting a Mac Mini and use my AOC USB monitor as the primary and only monitor for the system (that is the only monitor i have in the house). I am not concerned about the boot/post screen or information.

So you have verified that the Mac Mini + one USB monitor combination will work?

May i know the procedure for the installation? Am I right to say that the USB monitor will not work without the Displaylink driver so for a first boot you need to use a conventional monitor with VGA input to install the Displaylink drivers?

Hope you will be able to shad some lights on this.

Thanks in advanced.
