Kernel extension is not being installed.
On a MacBook Pro with DisplayLink 5.2.5 and Catalina 10.15.7, the DisplayLink Kernel extension is never installed. The dock is Dell D6000.
I already tried uninstalling, rebooting, entering recovery mode, cleaning the kernel extension cache and installing again, but when I pull the stats from the Kernel Extensions after a fresh new installation, DisplayLink does not appear there, thus the extension is shown as not loaded and I cannot make my displayport connected monitor to work. Any suggestions? Last edited by danielpilln; 10-18-2020 at 08:08 PM. |

Hi there,
I have the same issue and I can't follow that particular guide because my DisplayLinkDriver.kext is not even copied to the correct place. After instalation my DisplayLinkDriver.kext is not on my /Sytem/Library/Extensions or /Library/Extensions. |

Please tell me what version of legacy driver do you have? If you are working with DisplayLink Manager it does not have the KEXT extension as it is not based on kernel extensions. Thank you, Katarzyna

No DisplayLink extension
I am also having problems with getting the DisplayLink to work. I have a StarTech TB3DK2DPPD and a MacBook Pro (15-inch 2018). Before upgrading to Catalina, the dock worked with my multi-head display (2). Now only one is working. The second monitor is saying that it is not receiving a signal.
I have following the instructions and installed DisplayLink 1.1.0 (build 54.91) but I am not seeing a DisplayLink kernel extension. Any help would be appreciated. |

Need to use legacy drivers for clamshell mode, so them not loading is a problem.
What I see under extensions is that it can't load because of dependancy errors: Quote:
