Asus 168B+ looping disconnecting and reconnecting on Surface Pro 3 - Win 10
Hi,
I have a new Asus Monitor 168B+, connecting it to my Surface Pro 3 on Windows 10, I'm facing the issue described in this article: How to fix your DisplayLink product from repeatedly disconnecting and reconnecting, or freezing I tried: - All steps in the article - with another USB3 cable - I run the cleanup tool and reinstall the drivers - Attaching the monitor to apower source > in that case the logo Asus appeared and the monitor stayed on. Please find the logs attached. Any suggestion? Thank you. Marco. |

Hello,
Thank you for the details along with the logs, this is helpful. The DisplayLink chip was not connected when you collected the log files. DisplayLink driver isn't invoked by Windows as the OS doesn't see the chip. Therefore it won't be a driver issue, that's too early. What is likely to happen is that the monitor is asking for more power than the USB port can/is willing to provide. This can happen as the backlight and LCD take power to light up. I suggest trying to start it through an externally powered USB hub or use a USB Y-Cable to connect one part to the Surface and the other part to the Surface power supply USB port. Kind regards, Alban

Thank you Alban,
the USB Y cable solved this issue, however each time I plug the monitor the wifi stops working, I created a new thread here with updated logs: https://displaylink.org/forum/showth...4847#post84847 Looking on the forum and the knowledge base for similar issues, I wasn't able to find a suitable solution. Thanks. Marco. |
