Default Golden IMAGE

What would be the best way to install the latest Display Link Software on our Golden Image.. We don't want the software to check for any updates.. Running Win10 Anniversary Addition. Users don't have local Admin rights, so we want it to all be already setup- they just plug in and go.. Our users connect to different desks- all targus docking stations..

Hello Jason,

I agree with Bob, I recommend you use use the .INF based driver to add it to the driver store of your image.

Since Anniversary Update, there is no (need for a) co-installer. This means there is no need to have a setup/wizard when doing a pre-install.
Windows Update may get new graphics drivers pushed to the computer, as with anything on Windows 10 Anniversary Update onwards. However, this happens without needing to reboot or screen getting black thanks to the new driver architecture.
Today, Targus products are set to receive 8.2 M2, the version they have validated.

Our driver never "calls home" or sends data to us. We do NOT have any server infrastructure for that and we don't want to. This would be incompatible with banking applications and DisplayLink technology is used there.

Kind regards,
Alban
