Default What Am I Doing Wrong?

I'm trying to set up 3 external Dell SE2722HX monitors with my MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020) running Sequoia 15.3.1......

After multiple YouTube videos showed the same thing, I bought a Dell D6000 docking station and downloaded the correct DisplayLink driver.

Only 2 of the 3 monitors are turning on. The 2 that I have running HDMI to DisplayPort cords from the monitors to the docking station. I've tried HDMI to HDMI, HDMI to USB, HDMI to Thunderbolt port cords for the 3rd monitor, but NONE OF THEM WILL PICK UP A SIGNAL and I can't get the 3rd monitor to work.

Please if anyone has any thoughts/suggestions, I'm all ears. Thank you!

Hi,
The Dell D6000 docking station has 2 DisplayPort outputs, which are led by DisplayLink, and HDMI, which is used by Alt-mode technology. Basically, your solution should work just fine The monitor has VGA and HDMI built in, so you need to use two DP-HDMI cables and one HDMI-HDMI cable.
Of course, the DisplayLink Manager software must be enabled at all times.

Thank you for your response! Yes, I currently have 2 DP-HDMI cords plugged in (those are the 2 monitors that are working). I have my 3rd monitor connected into the docking station with an HDMI-HDMI, but there is no signal in that monitor and it is not being recognized on my DisplayLink Manager as a 3rd monitor option.

Not sure where I went wrong. I've tried multiple HDMI-HDMI cords thinking the one I ordered was defect, but none of them work......

A monitor connected to the HDMI socket on your D6000 will not be detectable by the DisplayLink Manager software because the assumption is that HDMI acts as DP alt-mode when both DisplayPort sockets are occupied.
What I propose next:
  • I would check that your D6000 has the latest firmware. Dell have released a tool to update this, but it's only available on Windows, so you'll have to connect it on another computer for the update. You can download the firmware here.
  • Disconnect the monitors connected to the DisplayPorts and check that the monitor connected to the HDMI port works. It should work both with DisplayLink Manager on and off.
