Adapter available to use a Daisy-Chained USB-C Screen on MAC

Hi,

I have a Daisy Chained Monitor Setup (Lenovo) where the two screens are connected via DP and where I have an USB-C Connection as uplink.

If I use this with MAC I have a duplicated view on both screens.

Its a shared desk office, so I am sitting nearly every day at a different desk.

Is there a solution available, where I have an adapter between the MAC and the USB-C Uplink to the Screens to have mutliple monitor support?

The 'daisy chained monitor setup' you describe relies on a technology within the displays known as DisplayPort (DP) Multi-Stream Transport (MST) in order to function.

Please note that 'DisplayPort' is a display protocol, while 'DisplayLink' is a USB video technology. They are not the same.

In brief, DP MST allows two unique video signals to be transported over one cable, which allows the daisy chain configuration to work.

macOS does NOT support DP MST, which is why both displays are showing a mirror image, and why the operating system only detects one external display.

Because this is a macOS limitation, there is no workaround for this behavior.

In other words, you cannot purchase a device to put in between the computer and the displays that will allow them to work in their current physical configuration.
