Unhappy Ubuntu 16.10 / Driver 1.2.65 not working

Hello,

I tried to connect my DisplayLink display to a brand new Gigabyte BRIX computer :
Model : Gb-Bki7a-7500 I7
Processor : Intel® Core™ i7-7500U CPU @ 2.70GHz × 4
Graphics : Intel® Kabylake GT2
OS : Ubuntu 16.10 64 bits
DisplayLink monitor : AOC E1659FWU

I downloaded the latest release of the driver (1.2.65) and installed it successfully.
The DisplayLink additional monitor doesn't work : when I plug it, both screens briefly blink then the OS reports a crash and the DisplayLink monitor turns off.

I attached the output of the debugging tool to this thread.

Thanks,
Michaėl

This is a result of a known problem with latest 1.2 Ubuntu release and 1366x768 resolution. We are aware of the issue and will be publishing a refreshed driver hopefully in a few weeks.

Meanwhile, a workaround is to try a previous 1.1.x release, potentially with newer evdi from GitHub for compatibility with newer kernels (but not newer than https://github.com/DisplayLink/evdi/...719d1b6e9a7594 because of an API change that would be incompatible with the currently-released user mode component)

Cheers,
Michal
