Unhappy Laptop screen dead after installing driver???

I just installed the beta driver on my MacBook Pro (running 10.6.3). There was an error message that popped up about incorrect driver installation. I wish I had copied it down. However the installation wizard said the installation was successful, so I clicked the "Restart" button on the install wizard.

When the laptop rebooted, the laptop screen is black. I heard disk noises, so I connected an external monitor via the standard laptop port. The monitor works. It looks like the laptop screen is dead??? I restarted and ran the uninstall wizard for the driver. Restarted again and the screen is still black.

Please, please, is there anyway to "fix" the incorrect driver installation? For xample, a way to reinstall the original driver, if it was modified in any way by the beta driver? This is just a terrible feeling that I broke my MacBook Pro from installing this.
