Install Driver - Windows 7 64 bit
My USB 2.0 Display Adapter driver sometimes stops working. I am trying to download the latest driver but the process is interrupted when I receive a message that the following file cannot be located:
C:\Users\Kelly\AppData\Local\Temp\{3A0E109C-77E4-4E89-81DE-8F877C7395C0}\7C7395C\DisplayLinkCore.msi I believe it is trying to find the DisplayLinkCore.msi file and remove it. I have run the endusercleaner.exe file from Display Link and it appears to have removed the old drivers but when I try to install the new drivers it seems to still be looking for the old ones Please help! Thanks Kelly |

Hi,
Please attach the logs from this tool: http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=269 Be sure to enable "Advanced Logging", under the Advanced Options section. Thanks, James |

I have attached the log as requested.
Please note that my current laptop driver 8.15.10.1872 I have tried to update to 8.15.10.1892 but this update is not available for my Sony VAIO laptop. It is apparently not compatible with my chipset? Sony VAIO VGN-NW240F |

Hi,
Can you try re-posting - unfortunately no logs were gathered by the tool. Thanks, James |

Hi,
Thanks - I'll take a look at the logs. In the meantime it might be worth running the Microsoft Fix It tool to try and remove the old MSI - http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Pr..._and_Uninstall Thanks, James |

It worked!
The Microsoft Fix It tool completely uninstalled the previous driver. I then loaded the latest driver.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH! |
