Problem using display link with aero disabled

I've disabled aero with windows 7 on my computer but it seems to make display link do all sorts of crazy things.

background doesn't update, movies don't show, firefox has problems showing pages and doesn't maximize / unmaximize properly. Any ideas if that is an expected behavior and how to solve it or work around it?

I'm using CUDA for GPU computing and I was looking to use this displaylink device for debugging as I need a second display device, but the CUDA debugger (nsight) is incompatible with aero so it's a big issue.

The device is a diamond bvu195 running under windows 7 64bit with the drivers from the displaylink website ver. 6.1.35912 (those from diamond crashed windows). Laptop is a lenovo w520 with quado 2000m + intel 3000 in optimus mode

Keep looking here, basic mode support is being worked on - can't give you a schedule at this point.
