Default No external monitors detected

Hi,

I have recently installed linux Mint on my laptop and connected it to a display link. The computer recognises that it is connected (verified by terminal and that the mouse and keyboard that are plugged into the box work fine) but the monitors that are connected to the display link can not be detected.

The link works with a different computer that is still running windows.

Any help would be appreciated.

I ran into similar issue. The driver installation process was smooth (albeit, I used the displaylink-debian installation script instead), but displaylink couldn't detect the monitor.

I got around the problem by switch to wayland instead of X11. In fact, in many ways, wayland worked better than X11, as opengl application still uses my nvidia gpu (albeit, open-source nouveau driver)

May be you should give Wayland a try as well.
