Default Power issues after upgrade to Catalina

After upgrading my macOS to Catalina, I am having power issues when powering the laptop with DisplayLink. It's weird. The battery will charge normally, but then, without warning, the battery will start to drain power, EVEN when plugged into DisplayLink. It is enough to fix the problem to unplug the USB-C and plug it back in.

Any thoughts? Our IT department has tried everything: PRAM reset, etc. We are using the latest drivers.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out!

Please keep in mind that DisplayLink drivers and technology does not include power delivery control. This feature is designed and implemented by the manufacturers of the devices that have power delivery available. Please contact them for further support, they should be able to help you.

Best regards,
Katarzyna
