Default D6000, Catalina 10.15.6 and screen rotation - any ideas?

So I've come across a really annoying issue first day back at the office after the summer break (during which I updated to Catalina). The issue is that screen rotation on external monitors "sort of" no longer works (bad workaround below) for monitors connected via the D6000.

Some technical info:
  • Macbook 13" 2017 (four thunderbolt ports)
  • OS X 10.15.6
  • D6000 firmware: A03
  • DLM (Displaylink Manager): 1.1.0 (build 54.91)
  • External monitors: 2 x Dell U2518D

If I start DLM and then connect the D6000 both external monitors are detected and image shown. One monitor however is rotated 90 degrees and there is no option to rotate the image in display settings. Only the options for resolution and refresh rate is there for the two external monitors.

The workaround that I have found is:
  • Quit DLM and disconnect the D6000.
  • Connect D6000
  • The monitor connected via HDMI is discovered and shows the rotation option
  • Start DLM
  • Second monitor connected via displayport is now discovered. This one does NOT show the rotation option.
So, after changing the cabling and using this connection order, things sort of work.

If I disconnect the D6000 however and connect it again, neither external monitor has the rotation option (and the rotated screen is back to being useless).

An interesting thing here btw is that when DLM software is running, the external monitors are not detected by the OS as monitors but as projectors!

Actually, never mind.

I just saw https://www.displaylink.org/forum/sh...ad.php?t=67271

I also didn't see the notice that screen rotation doesn't work in DLM 1.1 which is pretty silly in my opinion. Leaving this post though in case the workaround is of use to anyone else.
