Could you please open source and mainline the entire driver for Linux?
Hi,
this has been requested in various places already, such as the DisplayLink.com suggestion area, as well as GitHub for example, see: http://support.displaylink.com/forum...nd-get-it-into http://support.displaylink.com/forum...o-linux-kernel https://github.com/DisplayLink/evdi/issues/25 There is an article in the knowledgebase which tries to explain why it hasn't been done yet, but quite a few users feel it's not a good explanation: http://support.displaylink.com/knowl...rce-code-for-t So, could you please open source and mainline the entire driver for Linux, so that DisplayLink devices just work natively and out of the box on Linux? The Linux driver is totally crap. I can't use a really old distribution only for use my external display anche the support is totally useless (ok, I don't blame the single guy, only the lack of manpower). Just open the driver and let it go to a new way |
